MacPractice DDS to Include aMac Integrated Digital Imaging for Dentists

02/02/2005

Lincoln, NE, February 2, 2005: MacPractice, Inc. and aMac announce the integration of the forthcoming MacPractice DDS with comprehensive aMac Digital Radiography System and intraoral imaging solutions for general dentists and specialists. With this integration, a patient's x-rays acquired with aMac can be accessed from MacPractice DDS with the click of the mouse.

MacPractice DDS has been in beta clients' hands since December and is slated to debut in March along with MacPractice MD for physicians and MacPractice DC for Chiropractors, on schedule as promised. The first release will have integrated accounting, patient and insurance billing, and management and database report "Abilities." Scheduling and EClaims will be available in the 2nd quarter. A free offer of MacPractice shipping software, including scheduling and EClaims, for customers who subscribe to telephone support from MacPractice for DentalMac, MediMac, or ChiroMac has been extended to February 15, 2005 due to overwhelming response. Interested doctors who have no practice management software currently or use a different program have until February 28 to get free software.

The all-new aMac v2.0, which has been shipping for several months, is greatly enhanced over earlier versions. This premier digital radiography software on the Mac features a USB interface, size one or two CCD sensor options, and the hands-free Voice Command System. Acquiring an x-ray has been reduced to four steps: 1. position patient; 2. turn head; 3. say "activate (tooth or series)"; and 4. leave the operatory and snap the x-ray. Oracam Intraoral Camera with FireWire interface is also available from aMac.

The new MacPractice programs are designed and developed by a team of 11 software engineers, at the direction of Patrick Clyne, the original designer who led the development of DentalMac, MediMac, and ChiroMac.
